About Dr. Pratima Murthy:
Dr. Pratima Murthy, the Director of the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuro Sciences (NIMHANS)in Bengaluru, is a leading authority in mental health with over 30 years of experience. She has pioneered national initiatives like Telemanas for telepsychiatry and brain health programs & has been a strong advocate for women’s mental health. She’s also a member of the WHO Expert Group on Mental Health and Substance Use- Geneva & SEARO.
Dr. Murthy has shaped mental health policy & hospital reforms across India & developed comprehensive addiction treatment services. She launched the NIMHANS Digital Academy to expand human resources & improve access to mental health education & training. Her dedication has earned her numerous accolades, including the Dr. Raja Ramanna State Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award from Rotary.
