Thousands of farmers have committed suicides in the drought-prone regions of Maharashtra due to rising debts. In the aftermath of these suicides, the people who suffer the most are the families left behind. Our campaign aims to support the wives of these farmers (who are in most cases illiterate and not skilled). We will provide skill training in tailoring, give them a sewing machine and help setup a sustainable business.
Donate Now ➡The Better India has partnered with Shivprabha Charitable Trust (a trust with which one of our team members actively works on a regular basis) which has been working in this field for over 6 years. This trust will be setting up the sewing skills training school, buying and providing the sewing machine to each of the 35 widows, and following up on the impact of the campaign.
