Former IAS Officer Gives Free UPSC Coaching on The Ghats of Ganga
Inspired by his wife’s social work, former IAS officer Arun Kumar gives free UPSC coaching to aspirants on the ghats of the Ganga in Patna.
On the banks of the Ganga in Patna, former IAS officer Arun Kumar runs a free coaching class for UPSC aspirants. Around 3,500 students attend these classes.
Inspired by his wife Ritu Jaiswal’s social work, Arun quit his job to help students who couldn’t afford to attend expensive coaching classes. To save on the cost of infrastructure, he settled upon these open air classes, which he conducts every morning.
“Our mission is to create an environment of education so the students can study together and become sources of guidance for each other,” says Arun.
Arun had self-prepared for the IAS exam and belongs to the 1994 batch.
Today, many of his students have successfully cleared the exam.
